マイク: Neumann U-47 Condensers。テープマシン: モノーラル Ampex 350、バイノーラル 3-Track Ampex 300-3C。

1957年1月にCapitol W-824としてオリジナル12曲でリリース。ステレオ版（10曲のみ）は1959年4月にSW-824としてミックスおよびリリース。本180+ LPは、1968年以来初めて「Love Is The Thing」をオリジナルの1957年の長さと曲順に復元したアルバム。

マスタリング注記: 「Maybe It's Because I Love You Too Much」と「Love Letters」の3-track オリジナルテープは、Love Is The Thingのステレオ LP から外された後に紛失。これら2曲はステレオにミックスされたことがなく、ここではオリジナルの pristine monaural 形式で提示されています。S.H.

ボーナストラックは1963年3月にCapitol SW-1859 「Where Did Everyone Go?」のために録音、Gordon Jenkinsとの共作。
