1968年10月23日、ニューヨーク、グリニッジ・ビレッジでGeorge Klabin により録音。伝えられるところによると、これまで未発表だった2つのセットの新たに発掘された録音であり、The Village Gateからリリースされた唯一のEvans録音である。ビニール盤はRoss-Ellis による豪華な手書き番号付きリフトオフボックス仕様。Limited Edition 1st Pressing of 3000。
この リリースに関する最近のWall Street Journalの記事によると、Klabin の録音の背景は以下の通りである：「1968年10月、ジャズピアニストBill Evansがニューヨークの Top of the Gate でオープンした8日後、マネージャーが一人の決意した大学生にトリオのテープを録音させた。その学生は10月23日に早めに到着し、50ポンドの2トラックCrown recordersと4本の高価なマイクを持参し、90分のほぼ完璧な音楽を録音した。そのテープはラジオで一度だけ放送され、その後忘れ去られた。」
