Tracks A1-A3 were recorded in New York January 12, 1945. "My Melancholy Baby" and "Cherokee" were issued on a Black & White 78 by the Joe Marsala Sextet. "On The Alamo" is previously unissued. A fourth title from this session "Perdido" (mx. BW 71) is missing and presumed lost. Track A4 was recorded in New York February 9, 1945. Tracks A5-A8 were recorded in New York May 15. 1946. Tracks B1-B3 were recorded in New York February or March 1945. Tracks B4-B7 were recorded in New York May 11, 1945.
