Notes
Recorded in performance at the Village Vanguard Remastered 1991 (Fantasy Studios, Berkeley) Sticker: "In 1974, Bill Evans recorded again at the Village Vanguard, the scene 13 years earlier of his glorious trio performance with bassist Scott LaFaro and drummer Paul Motian. The 1961 recordings had firmly established Evans at the most important jazz piano stylist since Bud Powell and now he was lionized around the world as a performer and a major influence in music. This new trio with bassist Eddie Gomez and Marty Morell had a character of its own, and Evan's playing had a quality of happy aggressiveness the reflected his optimism and assurance in the company of Gomez and Morell. He was glad to be in the Village Vanguard and in the vanguard of his art" The "Fantasy" logo of this version, at the bottom right, is grey
