Arcade
Arcade is a Dutch record label and multimedia company founded in the 1970s by Herman Heinsbroek, initially specializing in compilations. The company expanded rapidly across Western Europe throughout the 1980s and 1990s, establishing offices in Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway, eventually becoming a multinational corporation operating in music, broadcasting, audio, and video.
In 1996, Arcade's parent company was acquired by Dutch publishing giant Wegener. Following a reorganization that included acquisitions of CNR Music and Indisc, the audio division was restructured as "Arcade Music Company" with separate Belgian and Dutch operations. In 2000, the Arcade Music Group was sold to WBG Beheer BV, which merged it with Roadrunner Records to form the Roadrunner Arcade Music Group. However, the label subsequently lost market share, and most divisions were closed or sold off.
The Arcade label was revived in 2008 by CNR Records B.V. and currently operates as one of the labels under CNR Entertainment B.V..
