The Paul Reed Smith "Stripped" model is a classically-styled guitar featuring a single-cut shape with a 22-fret fingerboard that made its limited production debut in 2012. It excels in playability, particularly in high-position playing, and is characterized by a vintage-style sound that could be considered the foundation of the current "McCarty 594."

The model we have in stock this time is a 2011-manufactured "Stripped 58." (While the serial number is 2011, it appears to have been completed in January 2012.) The neck shape is Wide Fat (Pattern), and the color is McCarty Tobacco Sunburst.

Featuring a rich natural tone from its uniquely thick body, it boasts a mahogany body with a beautiful curved figured maple top of classic shape, mahogany neck, and East Indian Rosewood 22-fret fingerboard. It incorporates 2011-version bird inlays, locking tuners, and solidly PRS-characteristic hardware and appearance.

This model's signature "Two Piece Bridge" combines a distinctive tailpiece with a TOM-type bridge. It was developed to transmit string vibration to the body as much as possible and was previously available only in Private Stock, but remarkably comes as standard equipment on this model.

It features covered "57/08" pickups, expressing picking nuances more accurately, and delivers a pleasant vintage sound from clean to crunch. The classical control layout of 2 volumes/2 tones with a 3-way toggle selector is actually an extremely rare configuration for PRS, with the pickup selector position designed as if responding to Les Paul users' requests.

This Stripped possesses a simple, sticky sweet tone with luster and a unique feel to play, offering pleasantly driven sound and comfortably warm clean tones. Of course, compared to Gibson, this is lighter, but its ease of play on stage is incomparably higher than a Les Paul. This is particularly noticeable in high positions. Its appearance, suitable for any genre from jazz to hard rock, is also convenient.

Many people find the pickup selector position on PRS guitars to be subtle and feel considerable dissatisfaction with it, but this model really resonates with Gibson users. The neck provides the same sense of security as a '58 Les Paul. Compared even with the latest McCarty 594, it's hard to choose between them—this is genuinely a great guitar.
