The Gibson Les Paul Gold Top, born in 1952. We have received one unit from 1954, loved as the standard Les Paul guitar equipped with the single-coil pickup "P-90". The serial number is "4 1008" and the weight is 4.66kg.

The 1954 Les Paul, which is also regularly reissued in popular series such as "Historic Collection," has had nearly all parts modified and replaced since intake, so please be aware that almost nothing besides the body is original. Additionally, the "Les Paul Model" logo on the headstock is gone, which suggests a refinish, but there are no traces of this.

Originally, 1954 Les Pauls came with a "Wraparound" tailpiece, but this one has been changed to a Japanese-made ABR, the frets have been refretted, the pickguard is missing, the internal wiring has been replaced with Japanese-made pots, and the knobs have been changed. The tailpiece is for a bar bridge. Regarding the "P90" pickups, it is difficult to determine whether both are original, so we cannot make a definitive statement, but they could potentially be original. (There is no marking on the back, so there is no basis for judgment.) The bobbin on the rear side has cracks. The rod cover, pegs, screws, and other hardware have essentially all been replaced or changed.

Looking at it this way, one might feel the rarity diminishes, but the impressive weather checking and patina on the body, the deep black Jacaranda (Brazilian Rosewood) fretboard, and the neck feel and sound of that era possess the certain texture that only a real vintage can offer. Even with the hardware changed, there is a definite tone quality that can be felt.

It has a completely different texture from Murphy Lab and Historic Collection, which craftsmen meticulously create and reissue at the highest level, and you will immediately notice the difference.

The pickup has high output on the front and low output on the rear, but adjustment is difficult, so we are offering it as-is. It would be nice to search for original parts yourself, and since it has been almost completely modified, you could also go ahead and finish it to your liking from here. Even if you use it as-is, once you hear this attractive front tone, we are sure you will be satisfied.

A rare instrument made during Gibson's Golden Era. We hope you will experience the sound that you can only understand by actually playing it.

【Accessories】Hard case only (Has Gibson logo, likely from that era. There is a hole and the internal string is broken, but there is no problem with transportation.)

【Appearance & Condition】Well-used appearance typical of vintage instruments. In addition to aging, there is some lifting in the inlays.
