Fender American Elite Telecaster Thinline Natural 2017
Description
Fender American Elite Telecaster Thinline Natural 2017
Fender's "American Elite" series is a renewal of the "American Deluxe" series, which had been the flagship of the regular lineup for many years, redesigned in 2016. As the pinnacle of modern style, it has gained high popularity as the most powerful instrument pursuing playability and functionality.
This time, we have received a 2017 model "American Elite Telecaster Thinline." It features a Natural color and weighs 2.64 kg.
The semi-hollow ash body combines the broad tonal palette characteristic of thinline models with cutting-edge technology and traditional style. The 4th generation Fender Noiseless pickups are voiced to match each position, delivering Fender's powerful tone. The top of the volume knob is equipped with Fender's original push-style "S-1" switch. By turning this switch on, you can achieve complex pickup combinations that cannot be obtained with normal wiring (such as all 3 pickups ON).
The neck shape features a compound back radius that varies from the low to high positions. The low position side near the headstock is U-shaped, transitioning to a D-shape toward the end. The satin finish provides a smooth texture, medium jumbo frets, and an "asymmetrical neck heel" further enhance playability.
The hardware is also user-friendly in design, featuring locking tuners with all six short pegs, newly designed string guides, volume pots with light torque, and control knobs with rubber non-slip material.
It boasts an outstanding modern sound inheriting the legacy of American Deluxe. Best of all, at 2.64 kg, it's incredibly light. Even when playing standing up, it doesn't cause fatigue, and the ease of transport and reduced shoulder strain are incomparable to other guitars. It pursues playability and has excellent balance.
The current "Fender American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster Thinline" is a series that recreates vintage specifications, so there are quite significant differences in specs. Rather than a difference in instrument quality, it's a matter of sound and specification preference, so depending on the person, this model might be more convenient and easier to use. Since the Elite had a short sales period, few people know about it, and this thinline model might be quite a bargain find.
The austere Natural color is also superb. Highly recommended not only for guitar vocalists but also for anyone who has never tried a thinline!
