Description
Sigma Guitars by Martin SEC-2000J
Sigma Guitars is a brand under license from C.F. Martin & Company. Originally, Martin Company developed it as an affordable guitar series to counter the increasing imports of guitars from Japan and other countries. After production was discontinued by Martin in 2007, a German company acquired the brand rights and relaunched the brand with manufacturing based in China.
The model that has come into stock this time is the SEC2000-J, an acoustic guitar in the 42 style. The manufacturing year is unknown, but it was likely produced in the early 1990s.
This is a popular high-spec model featuring a torch inlay and Jacaranda veneer adorning the headstock at the top-tier class, an ebony fingerboard with snowflake & cat's eye inlay, a solid Sitka spruce top with an aging toner that adds warmth, and plywood Jacaranda sides & back—a design that connects to the EC (Eric Clapton) model. The scale length is 628mm. There is no pickup; it is a pure acoustic design.
Since guitars manufactured in the 1990s became the center of this brand, it is a rare brand that has scarcely appeared in the used market in recent years. Moreover, despite being officially recognized by the parent company, it is domestically produced—this is exactly what fans of the brand are looking for, making it a rare acoustic guitar. For those who think a 42 is too expensive to buy, this will be a perfect hit. When we actually played it, the cohesive sound retained Martin characteristics and was excellent. This is definitely worth targeting!!
