The Martin D-28, the most famous model representing acoustic guitars, has arrived in stock! This standard model, which enjoys tremendous support from world-renowned musicians, is a 1977 model.
While the D-28's specifications vary slightly depending on the year, this one features the square rod structure and non-scalloped bracing typical of the late 1970s. It is characterized by Martin's powerful bass and well-balanced harmonic resonance.
Constructed with a spruce top and rosewood sides/back. The D-28 from this period features larger dot position inlays and Grover pegs. The D-28 sound, created from the finest woods by skilled craftsmen, is truly exceptional.
The neck has a slightly narrow nut width of 42.9mm, referred to as "narrow," with a soft V-shape. The current neck is straight.
Rich overtone components and characteristic bright resonance, with a dry tone—these words fit perfectly, giving an impression of excellent projection. The distinctive Martin tone creates an exquisite sonic space. Our repair technician has leveled the frets, adjusted the saddle and nut, and set it up. The string action is slightly higher than standard, but in return, the comfort of chord strokes in lower positions is exceptional.
The top has minor scratches and dents in addition to some wear near the sound hole, but there are no particular issues. Both sides of the body have numerous dot-like stains. Since nothing was found even upon close inspection, the cause is unknown, but there is no particular impact on playability or tone. If you are concerned about appearance, we recommend reconsidering. With the price adjusted accordingly, and given that the tone and playability are assured, this is a highly recommended instrument for those seeking to acquire a D-28 from this period at a reasonable price.
