FFRR
Dance music-focused imprint founded in 1986 as Full Frequency Range Recordings under London Records, with Pete Tong as A&R director. The label's early releases established its significance in dance music, including landmark tracks by Lil Louis, D Mob, and Salt-N-Pepa. Throughout the 1990s, FFRR released albums from electronic and pop acts including Orbital, Goldie, and All Saints.
Created to preserve London Records' celebrated focus on dance music as the parent label expanded into rock and pop, FFRR inherited its name from a historic Decca trademark launched in 1947 to denote high-fidelity sound recording. The new FFRR logo, introduced in 1987, incorporated elements of the original high-fidelity branding while establishing the imprint's distinct identity within the London Records family.
Nick Raphael (2) joined the label as product manager and eventually became label manager, playing a key role in its development. Under Pete Tong's continued stewardship, FFRR was relaunched in 2011 and now operates as a sub-label of Parlophone within Warner Music Group. The label maintains its reputation as a leading dance music institution, consistently championing electronic and dance-oriented artists.
