Argus

Matte gatefold, white label promo, which lacks both obi and the glued 2-page blue insert of the original Japanese regular LP release Argus = 百眼の巨人アーガス. Original promo copies, however, came with a folder containing a complete Japanese press kit. In the folder there are 2 booklets; one being a 10-page pale blue foolscap paper Wishbone Ash fan booklet with navy type. The other booklet being a Japanese MCA press release for Wishbone Ash; it is a 12-page foolscap paper stapled booklet with red type (see pics).

On labels the Japanese title for Argus is 百眼の巨人 アーガス , which is found in parentheses.

There are no track times listed anywhere on release.

It would appear that this is an earlier Japanese pressing to both 5556210 and 31189279, as it has Victor Company Of Japan, Ltd. labels rather than Victor Musical Industries, Inc. labels.

The transition from Victor Company Of Japan, Ltd. to Victor Musical Industries, Inc. took place on 21 May 1972 and this pressing used the old Victor Company Of Japan, Ltd. labels, even though it was obviously manufactured by Victor Musical Industries, Inc. as on the back cover it states....

Very similar to orange obi pressing Argus and red obi pressing Argus, however this release has a wider obi 'welcome' strip (note that this is one connected piece). In addition, the included insert is connected to the inner gatefold.
