This release differs from others by non-laminated strips 4 mm wide at the edges of the front side of the sleeve and the presence of an inner sleeve made of thick paper with beveled corners and large text on both sides of the sleeve. On the back of the inner sleeve below the large text is written "Patent Nos. 1,125,555" and "Made In Great Britain" On the reverse side of the outer sleeve is a green apple, on the end of the sleeve is written: "The Beatles Let It Be Apple Records PCS 7096". This is the second pressing on heavy vinyl with dark green Apple logo and darker green edge writing. Subsequent pressings had lighter green. The Garrod & Lofhouse laminated sleeve is on heavier card than later pressings, and particular to this and the first boxed set pressing are that the laminate ends just short of the opening edge of the sleeve on both sides. This sleeve introduces the green apple logo on the rear. The inner sleeves were thick white paper with 'Made in England', rounded edges and, 'Patent Nos. 1,125,555'. Later pressings added the EMI logo and further lettering and were usually on thinner paper. Rear of sleeve states: 'This is a new phase Beatles album... essential to the content of the film, LET IT BE was that they performed live for many of the tracks; in comes the warmth and freshness of a live performance; as reproduced for disc by Phil Spector.' An E.M.I. Recording. Track timings do not appear on the release. All runouts are stamped.

Original box set LP sleeve had a Red Apple Logo on the reverse, replaced with the standard Green Apple for the later non box set.

Fully laminated sleeve. Very unique transitional pressing. The cover and labels match the 1970 pressing. Side 1 has also been pressed with the lacquer master number 3 ( YEX-773-3U) Side 2, however, with a new lacquer cut ( YEX 774 - 4) mastered by Harry T. Moss (HTM), who was the EMI/Abbey Road mastering engineer. The initial HTM are etched at 11 o'clock in the run out. A date for this issue is difficult to determine. It should be somewhere between the late 70s and early 80s. The cover has a sticker saying "Parlophone PCS Series Not For Resale". A1 to A3, A5 to B3,B5 to B7: Northern Songs.
