Notes

Issued with green/orange/white obi & 4-page gatefold insert featuring Japanese liner notes & lyrics with English lyrics & credits. Originally produced by Robert Fripp in August 1977, Sacred Songs was intended to be part of a trilogy of albums showing the diverse styles of music that the "Frippertronics" guitar technology could be deployed with. The other two albums - Peter Gabriel's second self-titled solo album (aka "2" or "Scratch") and Fripp's Exposure album - were released in 1978 & 1979 respectively. RCA executives were purportedly worried that the non-commercial portions of Sacred Songs would have a negative impact on their Hall & Oates cash cow and refused to release the album at the time, thus the image of a grinning Hall emerging from the RCA vaults "cradling" the master tapes as seen on the front of the Japanese insert.
