Eric Daw Custom Guitars 62 "S" Style Pickups (RWRP for hum cancel)
「Eric Daw Custom Guitars (Eric Daw)」 is a high-end guitar pickup brand meticulously hand-wound one by one in Idaho Falls, America. We were amazed to discover that new products can deliver the depth and feel that should only be possible from vintage guitars from the 1950s or pickups created by the legendary craftsman "Abigail Ibarra" who worked at Fender Custom Shop, and MION has decided to handle Eric Daw products. Without modern flavoring, we have assembled a diverse lineup of pickups so that you can experience the scent of old-fashioned America directly from your amplifier.
As the first domestic store to take orders for and officially sell Eric Daw pickups, we will continue to work toward the further promotion and sales of Eric Daw products.
This is the "62 "S" Pickups" that we custom-ordered from our store. It comes as a set of three single-coil pickups. It was completed on February 27, 2025.
Eric Daw pickups are meticulously crafted using carefully selected premium materials and the highest possible standards. These are not made by trained workers or machines, but rather entirely hand-wound using a direct-drive winding machine that was custom-built through research of the winding machines used during the dawn of electric guitars in the 1950s.
Because the wire is guided and wound by hand, a coil pattern of "scatter winding (random winding)" is created that cannot be replicated by machines. This is the secret behind the sound of vintage pickups that are still highly regarded today.
Premium American alnico magnets and enamel-coated magnet wire are all selected from the finest available locally. The alnico pole pieces (magnetic poles) are charged by hand using a custom-built magnetic charging device. There is no compromise for cost reduction, and the purpose is to create completely hand-made boutique pickups aimed at world-class sound quality.
This model recreates vintage pickups that were mounted on a 1962 Stratocaster and features "RWRP (reverse wind reverse pole)" specifications. By reversing the coil winding direction and magnet orientation of the pickup, a hum-canceling effect is created, reducing noise during half-tones.
We invite you to try Eric Daw's vintage-modern aesthetic that we propose at this opportunity.
