A Taylor-authorized expert will support you.
The Japan limited edition model "Taylor 314ce J-Spec" has arrived in stock.
The '314ce', a pickup-equipped model in the '300' series featuring V-Class bracing structure. Among Taylor's higher-numbered series in the 300 range, this is the Japan limited version of the most orthodox and best-selling standard model.
The characteristic feature is the change of neck shape from Standard to Slim and nut width from 44.45mm to 42.86mm. It's an interesting point that the neck and nut width have been narrowed to suit Japanese hands. Beyond just playability, with the slimmer neck, the spread of string resonance transmitted to the headstock is reduced, and by featuring body resonance, there is a major advantage of being able to output a more focused sound through the line. This is the reason our shop promotes the J-Spec.
The top features a gloss finish using solid Sitka Spruce, while the sides and back are finished in a satin finish using Sapele wood. While satin finishes are often used primarily for cost-cutting, Taylor pays attention to the satin painting method as well. In higher-series models, the process is differentiated, with careful attention paid to painting procedures that are more conscious of body resonance.
The neck uses solid Tropical Mahogany. The Ebony fretboard is decorated with unique Gemstone-patterned acrylic position mark inlays. The headstock also features an acrylic Gemstone-patterned single-point inlay on top and is equipped with bronze-colored chrome-plated tuners.
The "V-Class bracing" announced in 2018 ensures that it matches modern musical scenes in texture, and dramatic improvements in volume and sustain have been achieved. It's a design packed with the latest technology.
The pickup system features Taylor's familiar "ES2 Expression System II". With a structure where the piezo contacts the side of the saddle rather than beneath it, it outputs a clear sound without compression. The vibration of the entire body can be fully expressed on stage.
The "314ce" is also favored by our staff, and after playing this "J-Spec", we experienced that it has become surprisingly easier to play compared to older 314ce models. The fact that one's own playing can be expressed without stress directly connects to "sound quality", reminding us that this is an important element. You can also try playing the guitar at our store, so please feel free to contact us.
