The "214ce DLX RED ES2 Gold Hardware" is a limited edition model that represents the upper version of Taylor's 200 Series, considered their middle-class line. Featuring the most popular GA shape, its greatest distinguishing features are the lovely red body color, white binding, and the rare gold hardware. Additionally, as a "Deluxe" specification, the case has been upgraded to a hard case.
The top uses Spruce, while the sides and back use Big Leaf Maple. Compared to the regular "214ce" which uses Walnut, this wood selection emphasizes good attack and silky tone. The all-gloss finish is also a carefully considered finishing that takes natural resonance into account.
The pickup system features the "ES2 Expression System 2," the same as Taylor's upper-class models. With the piezo positioned on the side of the saddle rather than underneath, it produces a clear sound free of compression. The vibrations of the entire body can be reliably expressed on stage.
The bolt-on neck structure, innovative for an acoustic guitar, achieves high precision and excellent maintainability. The neck shape, which greatly affects "playability," is manufactured with stable quality through computer control.
