Ovation Super Adamas 1587-7 Reverse Beige Burst 1993

$3,844.00

Description

Ovation was founded in 1966 by Charles Kaman, the president of a helicopter manufacturing company and a renowned guitarist. Their electric acoustic guitars, which apply aerospace technology to guitars, are beloved by many musicians worldwide.

We have received the Ovation flagship model "Super Adamas 1587-7," which boasts an overwhelmingly striking appearance and sound. Manufactured in 1993 with cutaway. The number following 1587 represents the coloring; this model bears number 7, which indicates beige coloring.

The Adamas features a carbon fiber top with a vibrantly designed marquetry soundhole (double epaulet leaf hole), a body back created through integrated molding of Lyrachord, a fiberglass-reinforced resin, and a deeply sculpted headstock—a design that dramatically overturned conventional acoustic guitar aesthetics.

Due to its structure, it resists feedback effectively and produces a rich, unique acoustic sound unparalleled when amplified.

As evidenced by the manufacturer's description: "The sound board is the heart of this Adamas. The resulting robust midrange is welcomed by players who must be heard over electric guitars, keyboards, and drums"—the Adamas series is an electro-acoustic that successfully achieves the powerful sound unattainable from wooden tops.

Establishing both thinness and rigidity, it is said to be "like wood, but superior to wood," realizing both powerful bass and brilliant treble tones. Its resistance to climatic influences is another strength due to its non-wooden composition.

A small serial-numbered certificate is included. It is written in English as follows: "Guitars accompanied by this certificate are the highest quality products. This certificate is not issued for guitars sold domestically in the United States because their quality is considerably inferior compared to products exported to Japan. This certificate guarantees 'the highest standard of finish and quality' from the perspectives of 'playing performance, materials, color, vibration measurement, etc.' and further assures that this superior condition will be maintained for many years to come."

Equipped with gold tuning pegs by Schaller, the preamp features the familiar "OP24." Sound control during stage performances and line recording is entirely at the player's discretion. The Adamas has considerable recognition in Japan, partly due to its popularity with Yozo Okazaki, and units quickly disappear from the used market. With its rigid tone suited for the stage while still possessing rich character, it truly lives up to its flagship status. The action is standard to slightly low, and the satin-finished neck is easy to play. For an electro-acoustic with immediate stage-ready capability and this striking appearance, the choice is simply Adamas!

Experience the capabilities loved by musicians worldwide.
