Ovation was established in 1966 by Charles Kaman, the president of a helicopter manufacturing company and a renowned guitarist. It is beloved by many musicians for its electric acoustic guitars that incorporate aerospace technology into guitar design.
This time we have received the "2001 Collector's Edition" featuring Figured Redwood. Due to its limited production, this is a rare piece on the secondhand market. The serial number is "378".
In the "Collectors Edition" series, an annual tradition that began in 1982, this marks the commemorative 20th edition.
The 2001 model features rare-grain Figured Redwood as the soundboard material. This solid top is finished with a transparent clear finish, emphasizing the beautiful natural wood grain. The sound has a warm resonance similar to cedar-top guitars.
