Gibson Blues King Electro Vintage Sunburst 1995
Description
Gibson Blues King Electro Vintage Sunburst 1995
Gibson began developing the L-series and small-body acoustics in the early 1900s, and the "L-00," released in the early 1930s, was sold at an affordable price and became popular as an easily accessible guitar for many musicians.
The "Blues King" features a 25.5-inch scale and is based on the "L-00" with a thinner body specification, characterized by a bluesy tone that excels in fingerpicking response. It is popular as a model that is also ideal for playing at home, with a rich and voluminous Gibson-like sound.
The model we have in stock this time is a 1995 "Blues King Electro" with a Vintage Sunburst finish.
This is a cutaway jumbo-body flat-top electric acoustic guitar. It features a Spruce top, with laminate Maple used for the back and sides. The "J-185 EC," which developed this model, appeared and replaced it as a successor model in 1999.
The most distinctive feature of this model is, as the name "Electro" suggests, the built-in Gibson original preamp "Accu-Voice." According to original documentation from that time, it was manufactured by Peavey, and I have never seen this before. The manual was included, so I translated it.
・VOICE
Proprietary tone shaping control. Whether connected to a portable guitar amp or a large PA system, the tone can be finely adjusted to ensure the guitar's most natural acoustic sound in any situation.
・TONE
After adjusting the basic tone with the VOICE control, you can use the TONE control to add warmth to the low end or boost the high end for a brilliant sound.
・NOTCH
Used when a larger volume is needed. The NOTCH control identifies and removes frequencies that could cause feedback.
・BRIGHT
Used when you want to quickly boost the high end. Engaging the BRIGHT switch instantly adds powerful high-frequency attack.
・POWER SWITCH
Unlike other pickup systems, you can turn off the Accu Voice with the power switch even while the instrument is connected to a cable. This prevents unnecessary battery drain.
・OTHER FEATURES
Pop-in/pop-out style control knobs that retract when pushed and pop out when pushed
1/4-inch phone input
3-pin XLR balanced input
Battery level indicator
Easily accessible battery compartment
The neck shape is somewhat V-shaped, which is also a rare point. The headstock logo is the old-style Gibson logo, creating a vintage aesthetic. Since it has a cutaway, this model may have been designed with playability for the stage in mind. The tuners appear to be Grover, but there is no marking indicating this. The mother-of-pearl double parallelogram inlay is a luxurious touch.
This model is surprisingly rare on the market, and the sound of this preamp is quite good, so it seems to be quite usable as a Gibson electric acoustic. The natural sound is unmistakably Gibson in character—a 1990s-style acoustic guitar ready for immediate use. The action is set a bit high, but it still plays well, and the saddle remains. If you've been looking for this, please take this opportunity.
