Steinberger Klein GK-4T #222
Description
Steinberger Klein GK-4T #222
Steinberger, which created innovative structures such as the "headless design," "graphite neck," and "transposable tremolo unit." From the "GK series" born through collaborative production with luthier Steve Klein, the "GK-4T" has arrived! The color is black, the serial number is "GK222," and it was manufactured in 1993. Weight is 3.5kg.
The greatest feature of this instrument is the original body shape designed by Klein with the concept of being "easy to play whether standing or sitting." Of course, the neck is graphite. The pickups feature an EMG 85 humbucker in a low-impedance SSH layout.
The model name "T" indicates the top-of-the-line "transverse tremolo." The transpose function can be fixed in the following 6 stages, and smooth arming action is completely flexible. With excellent ergonomic weight balance and high playability, it remains a popular model to this day.
By the way, when this arrived in stock, a guitar synthesizer was attached to it, so we removed it at our shop. There is a hole in the body that resulted from this removal. Additionally, since the string ground was also attached to the bridge after the fact, we have left it as-is for noise prevention purposes.
While it has a strong visual impact, the balance when played sitting down is excellent, and including tuning stability, the ease of use is outstanding. Strandberg guitars, which are seen frequently these days, have a similar name and share common features like the headless design, but the sound character is completely different. This Steinberger, the original brand that established the headless guitar genre, could be said to reign at the apex of the travel electric guitar world. With regards to this Klein, it may look incredibly inconvenient in terms of portability, but it is indeed small. However, it is slightly bulky widthwise. That is also an endearing point.
Even now, Klein electric guitars with similar body shapes are manufactured, but unlike this Steinberger, they adopt their own headless style (wooden), so this specification is extremely rare. From extremely aggressive tone to beautiful clean sounds, EMG's characteristic qualities shine through in wonderful sound quality. USA Steinbergers are expensive, but the quality is worth it.
Comes with original soft case and arm. If someone used this guitar in a music video, they would definitely stand out.
