Mosrite Ventures Model 1965 Solid Red Sparkle #3085
Description
Mosrite Ventures Model 1965 Solid Red Sparkle #3085
The history of the "Mosrite Ventures Model" began in 1963, and it remains a standard model beloved by many artists to this day, despite various specification changes. It has been used not only in surf music but also in punk rock, and was favored by numerous guitarists such as The Ventures, The Ramones, Takeishi Takeshi, and Kayama Yuzo.
This time, we have acquired a vintage Mosrite manufactured in 1965, in a rare single-color red sparkle finish that cannot be found anywhere in the current used market. The weight is 3.95kg.
The neck pocket bears an engraving of "1965 DEC 17," confirming it as an authentic instrument made by Semie Moseley. Since the finish under the neck is also red sparkle, we can determine that this is the original color rather than a refinish. The fretboard end bears an engraving of "3085," and remarkably, the body top features what appears to be a signature of Takeishi Takeshi.
It features a top jack, a specification adopted from 1964 onward. The headstock displays a small "Ventures Model" logo. It also features a pickup cover with the "mosrite of california" logo that began in 1965, and knobs marked with an "M". The tremolo is marked with "Moseley".
With its slim neck, narrow metal nut, and 0-fret—all familiar Mosrite specifications—this is an instrument that allows you to appreciate the qualities of Mosrite. The pickups are high-output, delivering a powerful and distinctive sound.
Around 1965, "sparkle" colors typically featured a center tone close to gold or orange, fading to a dark red sparkle on the outside. A single solid red sparkle color from this golden era is extremely rare. There is also a theory that "some sparkle color examples were shipped without burst processing," making this a valuable piece. Do not miss this unprecedented opportunity and stroke of fortune.

All parts and wiring are believed to be original, though some may have been replaced.

・If any buzzing, dead spots, or other issues significantly affecting playability are detected, they are always noted. In the absence of such notation, we have determined that there are no problems with playing condition.
・Unless specifically marked as "Original" or "Replacement," we do not make definitive claims regarding specifications or condition.
・Regarding the truss rod, from a product protection standpoint, we only check approximately 45 degrees in both the tightening and loosening directions. (The notation "adequate adjustment range available" indicates that there is approximately 45 degrees of slack in both directions.)
