Gibson LTD 50s Les Paul Standard P90 EB (Ebony) 2005
Description
Gibson LTD 50s Les Paul Standard P90 EB (Ebony) 2005
The Gibson flagship model that carved its place in music history—the representative of electric guitars, the "50s Les Paul Standard P90"—a 2005 model has arrived in stock. Weight: 4.7kg.
The "50s, 60s" series, which served as the main lineup for Gibson USA-made Les Pauls in the mid-2000s, is a genuine guitar that evokes the atmosphere of Les Pauls from that era and continues to receive high acclaim today. Subsequently changed to Traditional, and after specification changes, the "50s Les Paul Standard" has become standard once again.
Remarkably, this is quite a rare limited specification featuring a "P90" pickup and adopting an Ebony Black color—a no-nonsense instrument. When it comes to P90-equipped Les Pauls, Goldtop or Special models are typically standard, so this Standard look with pure black finish and binding is quite a rare combination. The tuning pegs are Kluson-type, and the slightly thicker neck provides a reassuring feel that is truly reminiscent of the 1950s.
In terms of sound, the P90's characteristic bite translates every nuance of the left hand, the strength and weakness of picking, and delicate volume control without loss, delivering expressive playing.
In addition to the truss rod cover being changed to a skull cover unlike any we've seen, the volume and tone knobs, and strap pin have been replaced. Overall showing numerous scratches, it's clear this guitar saw considerable hard use in live performances and rehearsals. The pickguard has also been removed and is missing. However, this is truly a cool guitar that looks great on stage, and conversely, these scratches and signs of use give it character.
The sound and appearance are top-tier—playing it, you'll want it. The 4.7kg weight is a drawback, but in exchange for tolerating that, the robust P90 sound you'll gain is without question a must-have for serious rock guitarists.
