「Frank Brothers Guitar Company」 is a workshop located in downtown Toronto, Canada, that delivers exceptional instruments to musicians around the world. Founded in 2014 by three Frank brothers, it is characterized by guitar craftsmanship that fuses the family's musical tradition with innovative design.
At the 2025 NAMM SHOW, MION staff actually played this guitar and were captivated by its unique sound and beautiful craftsmanship, leading us to start official retail sales of new "Frank Brothers" products. This is a historic first shipment marking the brand's debut in Japan.
This brand features a distinctive guitar lineup that blends craftsmanship and artistry.
The first model that captivated MION and led to our decision to stock it is the chambered version of the brand's flagship model, the "Arcade Thinline".
The "Arcade" features a solid mahogany body with an archtop and back boasting high adaptability, now chambered. It is finished with an overwhelming full gloss relic treatment featuring dense weatherchecking. It features a curved top & back, a special deep neck tenon, and the brand's trademark blend heel. The fretboard is made of Macassar ebony.
All Frank Brothers necks are constructed with a new V-joint structure.
This joining method is an extremely strong neck attachment technique used by Martin until around World War I.
It not only prevents wood grain separation and reduces material waste, but also has the advantage that the joint ultimately becomes invisible.
While many guitars feature a "diamond volute," it is extremely rare for them to actually employ a V-joint. Frank Brothers is likely the only electric guitar manufacturer using this structure, and this joint style is normally seen only on the highest-grade classical guitars.
The installed pickups are the proprietary "FBGC "V.O." Humbucker Set". These are humbuckers born from a collaboration with Tim McNelly, a legendary Canadian pickup winder. They perfectly harmonize the sparkle, clarity, and midrange balance expected from the "P.A.F".
Wound with vintage-spec 42-gauge enamel wire and intentionally left unpotted to extract maximum dynamics and vintage tone.
The guitar sound and playability differ from other manufacturers, maintaining the high-resolution texture found in high-end guitars while also possessing a quirky, bizarre guitar quality. There is a strange charm that keeps you playing continuously, driven by the fun of discovering new phrases.
A fine detail worth noting: the back cavity is skeletal, intentionally exposing internal wiring that manufacturers typically hide from users. This demonstrates confidence that all soldering and wiring are done as cleanly as possible.
