Fender Telecaster Thinline Natural 1971
Description
Fender Telecaster Thinline Natural 1971
From the late 1960s through the early 1970s, adventurous guitarists "hot-rodded" the Telecaster, equipping it with powerful humbucker pickups in the front position, giving rock music a new style and presence.
We have just received a Fender "Telecaster Thinline" from 1971 with two single-coil pickups, believed to have been made just before that legendary foundation was laid. The weight is 2.85kg. The neck date reads "AUG 71".
Since major specification changes were made in 1972, this model is strongly associated with wide-range humbuckers, but this one features orthodox specifications. Details from that era remain, such as the large pickguard and F-key pegs.
The interior of the ash body has a hollow structure with routing work, and is covered with a body back plate. The combination of a U-grip maple neck with a maple fingerboard, 21F, 7.25R radius. The 4-point neck joint is also one of the characteristic features of the pre-specification change period.
We have performed a refret at our shop, replaced two pots, and replaced the switch hat knob, resulting in a brand-new playing feel. This is finished in the best condition for players who want to use it hard.
There are models with mahogany bodies, and it appears that serially production spanned into 1972, but surprisingly, ash Thinlines with 4-point joints are difficult to find. If you're interested, please don't miss this opportunity.
