Fender Mexico 50's Telecaster EXPORT BLK w/ EMG Pickups 2001
The Fender Mexico Telecaster is an attractive choice for many guitarists. The reason for its high reputation lies in the excellent balance between price and quality. While more affordable than American-made Fenders, it offers solid construction and sound quality, and is favored not only by beginners and intermediate players, but also by professional musicians who deliberately choose Mexican-made instruments.
This time, we have received a 2001 model "50's Tele Export" in black color. The weight is 3.8kg.
This model follows the design of 1950s Telecasters. "Export" is a general term for models manufactured in Mexico or Japan and exported for sale in overseas markets (such as America and Europe).
With the black color and no visible wood grain, we cannot definitively identify the wood material, but it is likely an ash body. It features a maple neck with a 21-fret fingerboard. True to the "50s" designation, the pickguard is a rare 1-ply specification.
The pickups have been replaced with EMG single-coil active pickups. The controls remain VOL/TONE and a 3-way selector. Telecasters equipped with EMG pickups are quite rare, so if you've been looking for one, this requires no modifications and will deliver a great active sound. I believe the quality of Fender Mexico from the early 2000s is quite high, and with low noise, I personally recommend this model for those who don't yet own an EMG guitar.
