Fender Jazzmaster Sunburst 1965 w/ Binding & Dot Inlay
Description
Fender Jazzmaster Sunburst 1965 w/ Binding & Dot Inlay
A classic real vintage 1965 Fender Jazzmaster has arrived in stock. The serial number on the neckplate is "121220", the neck date is "4OCT65B", and the weight is approximately 3.72kg.
The classic style combining a 3-color sunburst finish with a tortoiseshell pickguard exudes the elegance of vintage Fender. This features the neck binding & dot marker neck specification from the late 1965 production, which was adopted only on Fender's high-end models. Since this was changed to block position markers around mid-1966, this is a rare spec that was used for only about half a year. The neck date confirms it was manufactured in October 1965, which is consistent with the specification.
The body is made of alder, achieving a well-balanced tone with punchy character and rich mid-bass. It features a maple neck combined with a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard. The 7.25-inch radius and authentic vintage feel are major attractions.
Upon inspection of the rear of the installed pickups, they appear to be original. However, as they produced no sound upon arrival, we rewired the electrical system here, and they now operate properly. The potentiometers were already replaced upon arrival (dating from 1980 and 1976 manufacture), and we replaced them with newer ones. Additionally, the frets had worn down to an unplayable state upon arrival, so we performed a refret (same size as original) and replaced the nut. We also replaced the preset switch, preset volume & tone, toggle switch, output jack, and glued a body crack inside the preset control cavity. Please note that it is difficult to determine the replacement history of screws and some other parts. The tuning pegs are likely original.
While preserving the original sound as much as possible, we have repaired this instrument to be in a practical, performance-ready condition for players who prioritize playability.
Many artists favor 60s Jazzmasters from the golden era, and it is one of the dream guitars for guitarists. While the one we received this time is not collector-oriented, the sound is exceptional. With parts replacement and refrets already performed, it is in the best playing condition and can be used immediately in various performance settings.
The aging, finish wear, and scratches from that era have a reality that relic and reissue instruments can never replicate. The 60s Jazzmaster is expected to increase in value going forward. This is the ultimate instrument for players who will use it actively.

・If buzzing, dead spots, or other issues that significantly impair playability are observed, they will always be noted. If no such notation is present, we determine that there are no problems with the playing condition.
・If "original," "replaced," etc. are not explicitly stated, we make no definitive claims regarding specifications or condition.
・Regarding the truss rod, from a product protection standpoint, we only check up to approximately 45 degrees in both the tightening and loosening directions. (If "adequate clearance" is noted, it indicates there is 45 degrees of clearance in both directions.)
