Fender Japan ST57-55 1986 #E636031
Description
Fender Japan ST57-55 1986 #E636031
A popular model from Fender Japan that follows the 1950s Stratocaster design, the "ST57-55" has arrived in stock. The weight is 3.41kg. The neck pocket bears the markings "ST-57-55" and "3-18-86," which leads us to determine this is a 1986 manufactured "ST57-55".
Based on the E series and "MADE IN JAPAN" marking, it was manufactured between 1984 and 1987, which is consistent with the neck. Fender Japan products from this period were assembled and manufactured at Fujigen, maintaining stable quality and excellent cost-performance, while achieving contemporary playability that adapts to various styles.
It features a Basswood body with a Maple neck and Maple fretboard with 21 frets. The pickups have no markings on the back, so replacement history is unknown, but the wiring was defective upon arrival, so we have completely replaced the pots and re-wired the instrument. The controls are simple, with the two tone controls affecting the front and center pickups only, with no effect on the rear. The single-ply pickguard is also characteristic of the '57 specifications.
The neck grip has just the right thickness—not too fat, not too thin. It feels different from recent American Standard or American Professional models. We have already set it up in-house, so the current play condition is excellent, making it perfect for players who want to play hard. As a Stratocaster from a period that is becoming Japan Vintage, I think it's a great instrument that can be used casually.
This is a model where Japanese craftsmen carefully and accurately inherited the essence of old Fenders with attention to detail, reproduced in various aspects. Please take this opportunity.
