Fender Japan ST57-50 1990 #I000816
Description
Fender Japan ST57-50 1990 #I000816
The popular ST-57 model from Fender Japan, inspired by Stratocasters from the 1950s, has arrived in stock. The weight is 3.3kg. The neck pocket bears markings of "ST-57" and "90" with an "STD" stamp, and a "50" sticker is present on the back of the headstock, leading us to determine this is a "ST57-50" manufactured in 1990.
With the I-series and "MADE IN JAPAN" marking, it was manufactured between 1989 and 1990, which aligns with the neck. Fender Japan products from this period were assembled and manufactured by Fujigen, maintaining stable quality and high cost-performance while achieving modern playability that adapts to various styles.
Features an alder or basswood body with a maple neck and maple fretboard with 21 frets. The pickups have no markings on the back, so replacement history is unknown, though the wiring has been corrected. Additionally, the 5-way selector and pots have been replaced, and the bridge has been changed to a block-type saddle similar to the American Standard. The controls are simple, with the two tone controls affecting the front and center pickups only, with no effect on the rear. The 1-ply pickguard is also characteristic of the '57 specification.
The neck grip is well-designed—neither too thick nor too thin. The feel is different from recent American Standard and American Professional models. Current playability is in good condition, and it's perfect for players who want to play actively rather than as a collector's item. As a Strat from a period entering the Japan Vintage era, I believe it's a great instrument to use casually.
Japanese craftsmen have faithfully inherited the essence of old Fenders with attention to detail and recreated it throughout this model. We have performed full maintenance at our shop, so please take this opportunity.

・If fret buzz, deadspots, or other issues that significantly impede playability are found, we will always note them. If no such notation is present, we judge that there are no playability issues.
・If "Original" or "Replacement" or similar is not explicitly stated, we do not make definitive claims regarding specifications or condition.
・Regarding the truss rod, from a product protection standpoint, we only check approximately 45 degrees in both the tightening and loosening directions. (When notation reads "adequate clearance," it indicates 45 degrees of clearance in both directions.)
