Fender American Standard Stratocaster MN Pewter 1988
Description
Fender American Standard Stratocaster MN Pewter 1988
The Fender "American Standard," affectionately known as "AmeSta," a standard model from Fender USA's regular line produced for 30 years since its debut in 1986, has arrived in stock as a Stratocaster.
1988 manufacture (neck date 11-03-88), Pewter color with Maple fingerboard specification! Weight is 3.67kg.
Alder body with Maple neck & Maple fingerboard 22F adopting standard wood materials, and of course the joint features 4-point mounting with bolt-on. Features include a 9.5R radius with Medium Jumbo frets and a 2-point bridge for easy arm operation. Controls consist of 1 Vol, Tone (Front), TBX Tone (Center & Rear), and the pickup selector is 5-position. The pickups feature 3 original "American Standard Single-Coil Strat" units. Other electronics are presumably original as well.
The AmeSta is an extremely long-selling model, but this 1990s AmeSta frequently adopts TBX tones like the Eric Clapton model, offering expanded high-frequency control range and a charm different from later versions.
Additionally, 1988 is positioned as an early year in the AmeSta lineup, and this guitar is also characterized by its exquisite coloring—a subtle intermediate between gray and silver like what Clapton used. Despite over 35 years having passed since manufacture, it gives the impression of using high-quality wood materials compared to current models. It's a fine guitar that helps you understand why it's still beloved by musicians!
Personally, I would strongly recommend this over its successor models, the AmePro and AmePro 2.
