Brian May Guitars BMG Special LH Antique Cherry
Description
Brian May Guitars BMG Special LH Antique Cherry
"Brian May Guitars" bearing the name of Sir Brian May himself. Born from a unique collaboration between Pete Malandrone, who has served as his guitar technician for many years, and House Music, the bestselling model "BMG Special".
This time we have received the left-handed model "BMG Special LH". The weight is 3.32kg.
This model inherits the distinctive looks and sound of the legendary "Red Special" while combining modern specifications, excellent quality, and the high manufacturing precision that comes with mass production models.
All of the basic elements of the sound that is Brian May's trademark have been faithfully reproduced. From body structure to pickups and electronics, it recreates the unique character and broad tonal possibilities of the original. Under Brian's concept of "a guitar for everyone," it is designed as a pro-grade guitar with an accessible price point and abundant color variations, easy for modern players to pick up regardless of genre, and serves as a reliable instrument in any playing environment.
Faithfully inheriting the looks and spirit of the "Old Lady," it features a double-cutaway mahogany body with pinstripe binding. Inside the body is an acoustic chamber designed based on Brian's original guitar. This enhances natural resonance while also contributing to weight reduction.
The 24-inch scale mahogany neck, designed with modern playability in mind, features a significantly more compact and subtle contour compared to the quite large neck shape of the iconic original model.
It employs a set-neck construction using adhesive, with a 45mm nut width and a D-shape profile offering comfortable and appropriate spacing. Additionally, it features a 24-fret ebony fingerboard with an extremely smooth feel.
It is equipped with the "Tri-Sonic" pickup, a modern reinterpretation of 1960s Burns pickups, which plays a very important role in shaping a powerful sound. Three single-coil pickups are used in series connection, reproducing the same retro appearance and magnet layout as the original.
Similar to the original BM design, the Special features 6 white-capped slide switches. Each pickup's on/off and phase reverse can be operated individually, allowing for an extremely wide range of tonal variations.
It features a custom-designed knife-edge tremolo bridge. In addition to providing a modern and striking appearance, it realizes smooth and comfortable operation, excellent tuning stability, and high sustain. The distinctive headstock is equipped with locking chrome tuners in a 3x3 configuration. With an 18:1 gear ratio, precise tuning is possible, and the wheel-type locking mechanism firmly secures the strings.
The high-quality machine head allows for fewer string wraps, enabling quick and easy string changes.
Even when using extensive vibrato or heavy bending, it achieves extremely high tuning stability and more accurate pitch return.
A high-quality padded gig bag is included. Made with durable water-resistant material, it features a rucksack-style double shoulder strap, side and front handles, two front pockets, and embroidered BMG logo.
A must-have for fans, and recommended for those seeking a left-handed guitar.
