Description
Orville by Gibson TB Thunderbird Bass VS 1994
Positioned between Gibson (ギブソン) and Epiphone (エピフォン), the Thunderbird Bass of the "Orville (オービル) by Gibson" brand, manufactured domestically by Fujigen and Terada Musical Instruments from the mid-1980s through the end of the 1990s, has arrived in stock!
The Orville brand is divided into Orville and Orville by Gibson, with the latter—known colloquially as "By Gib"—equipped with genuine Gibson pickups and representing more authentic instruments. Orville is said to have offered high-quality products at a lower price point than Gibson, and many models have increased in rarity value in recent years.
The "Thunderbird," one of Gibson's representative electric bass models, has been popular since its introduction in 1963 and, like the popular Fender Precision Bass, is favored by many musicians including Nikki Sixx.
This particular model has the serial number "G408212," making it a 1994 manufacture by Terada. The color is Vintage Sunburst. The weight is 3.72kg.
The body and neck employ mahogany with a faithful recreation of through-neck construction. 34-inch scale, rosewood fingerboard with 20 frets, and dot position markers. It features a 3-point bridge with no tailpiece and simple 2VOL/TONE controls.
The pickup is an original-looking covered Gibson USA original humbucker, and the electronics are believed to be original to the period. As an officially recognized sister brand of Gibson and Japanese-made, it is extremely popular overseas as well. Before being purchased by overseas buyers, please take this opportunity to acquire this refined sound that fuses Japanese craftsmanship with Gibson, whose evaluation continues to rise.
