Description

A guitar workshop in Nagano known for brands such as Bacchus and Headway, Deviser. Among them, the brand "momose (Momose)" focuses on traditional models.

The model that arrived this time is a Jazz Bass type with the 4-digit serial number "4958". It weighs 4.67kg and is characterized by the burned-in head logo, which is seen on early production models.

Since there are no spec sheets and other materials, the details of the wood and other components are unknown. However, it features a sound with more presence in the mid-low frequency range. Processed and assembled at one of the highest levels in Japan, it inherits the basic structure and philosophy of vintage instruments while elevating the sound and playability to a high level.

The neck shape fits comfortably for Japanese players, enabling smooth fingering. The truss rod adjuster is installed at the neck end and processed for easy access, allowing for simple adjustment as needed for environmental changes and regular maintenance.

The pickup and wiring appear to be original. By pulling the tone knob, you can obtain a pseudo hum sound with increased thickness in the mid-low range. This appears to be because the front/rear pickups are switched to a series circuit. The fretboard is a 21F specification, and the bridge and pegs are likely GOTOH brand, with sufficient attention to detail in parts such as CTS pots.

This is a nice bass, I found it to have quite a good sound. With the substantial weight of the body, it produces a solid, thick, classic JB sound. A piece that allows you to fully experience the fine quality of domestic bass with skilled craftsmanship and unique charm!
