Ryoga (リョウガ) is a domestic guitar and bass brand created by Shimamura Music Instruments. To reduce the burden on artists performing aggressive live performances, the brand has fundamentally reconsidered the design of instruments including weight, balance, and scale, creating a new brand with original designs not bound by conventional values.
This time, the "SKATER-BASS" has arrived! The color is Surf Green, manufactured in 2023, with a weight of 3.77kg.
A model that supports those who want to enjoy bass as an easy-to-hold and easy-to-play instrument. It features a 33-inch scale, positioned between the common long scale and a slightly shorter medium scale, allowing those with smaller hands to play comfortably.
The original-shaped body is designed to provide appropriate balance whether played seated or standing. Additionally, by adopting lightweight poplar wood, the burden on the performer is further reduced.
The neck is designed to be slim for comfortable grip while using wood treated with a special heating process to enhance stability. Furthermore, by embedding a carbon-composite support rod, the instrument is finished with strong resistance to warping and twisting.
The nut width adopts 38mm, which is standard for general basses. The slim and easy-to-grip design provides excellent playability, and a matte finish is applied to prevent stickiness even when perspiring during performance.
Ryoga original pickups are mounted in a unique layout. It achieves a versatile sound that can cover everything from thick bass to crisp treble.
A bridge that can be used for both through-body and top-load stringing. You can choose according to your preference based on string type and tension feel. By using heavier parts, the balance when held improves, and the sustain of the tone becomes richer.
A traditional control scheme of 2 volumes and 1 tone is adopted. In addition to straightforward operability, the simple circuit without built-in preamp or battery minimizes electrical system troubles.
Even for those touching a bass for the first time, it will become a partner that allows you to play with correct form and experience the joy of enjoying bass.
