Kodama Kanoh #40 1998
Description
Kodama Kanoh #40 1998
Kodama Kanoh, a master luthier from Nagoya, is known as a pioneer of the "short scale guitar" upper-grade model that has now become standard. Since his independence in 1966 and the establishment of his own brand, he has crafted various types of instruments including mandolins, lutes, 19th century guitars, multi-string guitars, vihuelas, and chitarrones.
The model we have in stock this time is a #40 from 1998. As it was custom-ordered, the previous owner's name is inscribed on the label.
The basic specifications of this model feature a spruce top with rosewood sides and back, mahogany neck, and ebony fingerboard. (Wood materials may vary depending on the individual instrument)
The nut width is approximately 50.5mm, and the scale is approximately 610mm. Despite being a short scale, it has a woody resonance and well-balanced, orthodox tone. True to Kodama's stated philosophy that "the sound I aim for is a guitar with core," this is a well-made instrument with excellent projection and a clear, crisp ring as if the air itself were pure.
