The representative dreadnought acoustic guitar, Martin's "D-28". This time, we've received the "HD-28V," a derivative model from the Vintage Series! This is a 2008 model.
The "HD-28V" is a recreation of the pre-war "D-28," the most popular model in Martin's history. It features a solid spruce top and beautiful-grained rosewood for the sides and back. The bracing at its heart follows the traditional forward-shifted design. The neck is characterized by a 42.9mm nut width that was changed in 1939, with a grip based on a V-shape.
The "H" in the model number indicates herringbone binding, diamond & square position markers, long saddle, open pegs with butter bean buttons, tortoiseshell-pattern pickguard, and an aging toner finish that recreates the patina of lacquer over time—all specifications sought by longtime fans are included.
The entire body resonates richly, delivering an exquisitely balanced tone with full and deep mid-lows and beautifully clear, transparent high frequencies. You'll experience the refined, vintage-like Martin sound that flexibly adapts to any genre.
The string action is standard to slightly high, but the saddle still has material remaining.
