K.Yairi DY41 Custom 1992
Description
K.Yairi DY41 Custom 1992
K.Yairi is an established acoustic guitar manufacturer. Known as a maker that boasts stable quality, with handcrafted production at a workshop in Gifu Prefecture. Numerous musicians, both professional and amateur, are devoted users of their instruments.
This time, we have received what appears to be a custom order model of the "DY41," which recreates the Martin masterpiece "Martin D-41." It is from 1992.
The "DY41" typically features a gloss finish spruce top with rosewood sides & back wood materials. The neck is mahogany, and the fingerboard and bridge are thought to be ebony. Most notably, it is characterized by luxurious decorative details scattered throughout, much like the original, with meticulous attention to detail evident in specifications such as the bridge, pegs, fingerboard inlays, and purfling.
This appears to be a custom order model with a unique appearance. The headstock, which normally bears a vertical logo, features an original logo reading "Found the Sound." On the body back, where "K.Yairi" would normally be inscribed, what appears to be the previous owner's name has been engraved. Additionally, the bridge is a different type from standard, which is another custom point.
It has been finished as a dreadnought with balanced sound, characterized by lustrous high and low tones and a moderate midrange, typical of rosewood. It flexibly accommodates everything from outstanding and beautiful arpeggios to light strokes. The impression is that quite fine wood materials have been used.
The instrument employs a 642mm scale length, allowing for clear sound even in fingerstyle solo play and open tuning. A clear golpeador plate has been applied.
The nut width is a slightly wider 45mm, which enhances the presence of each string and is ideal for fingerpicking.
This truly has a wonderful tone, is easy to play, and has considerable volume. With a Martin D-41-like sound character, if you don't mind the name or logo on the body back, I think this is quite a bargain. A hard case is included for safe transportation. True to its "Custom" name, it appears to have been crafted with significantly more attention to detail compared to regular models, and if you were to order one now, it would likely become quite expensive. Please inherit the history of this guitar!
